For this spa and wellness project located on the Batumi seafront, we sought inspiration from Georgia’s rich cultural heritage and the serene beauty of the Black Sea. Our design seamlessly merges traditional Georgian motifs with the modern wellness experience, creating a harmonious retreat that reflects both nature and culture. Local forms, colors, and natural materials have been woven into every detail, with warm, earthy tones of marble and wood reminiscent of the Georgian landscape, combined with soft, organic shapes inspired by the flowing contours of the Georgian alphabet and the coastline.
The spa’s main area, open to all guests, offers a variety of relaxing experiences, including children’s and adult pools, saunas, a hydrotherapy pool, a calming relaxation zone, and a beverage bar. Located on the second level, the bar features cozy, circular “nests” made of wood, enhancing the feeling of comfort and closeness. Every space within the spa has been designed to evoke serenity, using Georgian aesthetics and the natural calmness of the sea to immerse guests in a peaceful environment.
For those seeking more privacy, the luxurious private treatment zone includes intimate massage rooms, softly lit with Georgian-inspired fixtures, as well as a hammam with marble seating designed to mimic natural forms. This secluded area offers a tranquil escape, providing guests with a heightened sense of relaxation and rejuvenation.
Throughout the spa, handcrafted details celebrate Georgia’s revered craft traditions. The reception area is illuminated by a bespoke light fixture made of traditional Georgian beads, acting as a focal point of elegance. In the relaxation area, natural linen ropes create private enclaves, each styled like herbal massage bundles, adding an earthy, tactile element.
The massage rooms incorporate smooth, calming lighting and gently curved fixtures, inspired by Georgian designs. In the hammam, the seating made of organically shaped marble emulates weathered coastal rocks, with irregular edges that invite guests to relax in natural surroundings.
In the pool area, stone elements with engraved patterns echo the flow of Georgia’s waterfall streams. Glass blocks, layered to evoke the movement of water, create a visual connection to the sea. The ceiling is adorned with acoustic wooden sticks, enhancing the tranquil soundscape and ensuring that every guest feels immersed in the peaceful ambiance of the spa.
Overall, this spa, designed by DASH DESIGN STUDIO, embodies an elegant fusion of Georgian tradition and modern wellness principles, offering a soothing and luxurious environment where guests can reconnect with nature and themselves.
